LAZ3

I was able to make some buys for February, which amounted to 3 shares of Lazard, International (LAZ), adding to my current position. It appears undervalued, so I felt it was a good time to add shares. The price is depressed at the moment, but I believe there are better days ahead.

Comparison to the Last Quarter and Last Year.

As we look at the results from last year and the last recent quarter, we can see there have been slight decreases in both comparisons, unfortunately.

%Chg Qtr%Chg Year
February 2019-3.44%-6.55%

The previous quarter's results from November 2018 came in at $184.42, meaning that the February 2019 income of $178.07 came in at -3.4% below the previous quarter's results. I believe that this was due in part to Lazard (LAZ) dividend payments not coming in February, as they had in November. These payments actually came in on March 1st. Therefore, the March numbers will definitely see a boost!

I believe a similar reason is at play for the lower results in comparison to February 2018. This is the first time I can remember the LAZ dividend coming in the 3rd month of a quarter. No worries, for now, as I expect it will all even out as more time passes.

Conclusion

So folks, there you have it. My results for February 2019 were not the greatest, and it is not good to see decreases, but I'm sure that I am on the right track. It does feel good to get on a timely schedule again for sending out update. I am hopeful that this will continue, and I do look forward to see how things shake out the rest of 2019.

How was your February? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. nice seek. Sucks to be down yr over yr but as you stated the odd payout throws things off.

On the plus side March should see some nice gains!
    keep it up
    cheers
