January 2021 Dividends
Hello everyone, thanks again for stopping by.
It's time once again for a summary of dividends received for the previous month. We have passed one month already into 2021, and well on our way into the new year, so it is time to look back at that first month's dividend income.
Let's now get to it, and take a look at the results from January:
January 2021 Transactions
Let's now take a look at transactions for January:
There were a few buys throughout the month, indicated by the table below:
- Aflac (AFL): I purchased 24 additional shares. This results in $26.88 in forward yearly income.
- IBM (IBM): I purchased 3 additional shares. This results in $19.56 in forward yearly income.
- Kroger (KR): I purchased 47 additional shares. This results in $30.08 in forward yearly income.
All totaled, these buys add $76.52 in forward yearly income. Extrapolating this to 12 months of similar buys, would result in $918.24 in additional yearly income, almost an extra $1,000 per year!
There were no sells in January.
Dividend Income History
Now, let's take a look at Dividend Income History, in tabular and graphical form:
Change from Last Quarter/Year
At this point, I typically show the amount of change compared with the previous quarter and year. This is shown in the table below
There was a nice, healthy increase compared with the last quarter (October 2020 dividend income), mainly due to recent buys of UGI (UGI Corp.), but there was a slight decrease compared with the January 2020 dividend income. This is likely due to the NOBL (ProShares S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats ETF) payouts moving from the first month of a quarter to late in the 3rd month of the previous quarter.
Although a little disappointing with the decrease from year to year, I am sure when we reach year-end, the tally for 2021 will end up looking very good in comparison with 2020 (all the differences caused by payouts moving in and out of certain months should even out).
Wrap-Up
So there you have it, the dividend income results from January 2021. As mentioned, I believe it will look better once things shake out by the end of the year.
