August 2020 Dividends

 Hello everyone, thanks again for stopping by. It is long overdue to summarize August's dividends (September summary coming soon). Apologies for the tardiness of this update, but better late than never, am I right?

So, let's get to it. Below are the dividends I received in August.

Aflac (AFL): I added 38 shares to my existing position. This adds $42.56 to my forward 12-month dividend income.

Ameriprise (AMP): I added 2 shares to my existing position. This adds $8.32 to my forward 12-month dividend income.

Both of these buys adds a total of $50.88 to my forward 12-month dividend income.

There were no sells for August.

So, August was kind of an ordinary dividend month. As one can see from the above results, the dividend income is about the same as a quarter ago (May 2020). 

For comparison sake, I also like to compare with the previous year. The below table shows the last quarter and year comparison:

For the comparison with the last quarter, you really don't get much closer than 0.39%, so let's call it about the same. 

Going back to the previous year (August 2019), there is a respectable 14.8% increase, likely due to my buys of Ameriprise stock (AMP) which pays out its dividend in the second month of each quarter. 

Now that I am in a consistent pattern of putting money to work each week with new buys, I'm expecting at least respectable increases from the previous year. Maybe even more than respectable in some cases, which would not be too bad.

So, that's all folks, without the cartoon pig. I am very pleased with the August results, and looking forward to more dividends in the future, with minimal effort.
